Normally I just throw away the political advertisments I get from Oklahoma’s Senators and Congresswoman Mary Fallin. However, Ms. Fallin has a new marketing/”praise for me campaign” about saving Oklahoma taxpayers money, and fighting against the “out-of-touch” federal government, which I dutifully read over the weekend:
Ironically, this flyer highlights the Congresswoman’s “no” voting history on spending measures passed by this Congress. However, up in the corner is this:
Oops. You’re sending out a mailer saying how great you are on federal spending, and you’re using taxpayer dollars to fund it. Unbelievable!
I won’t even give the Congresswoman the benefit of the doubt, and say that her Communications Director screwed up. There’s no excuse for this type of hypocrisy. This is flat-out a political communication paid for by us.
I have no opinion on Ms. Fallin before her time in Congress, and generally, I think she’s probably been good for Oklahoma (although I couldn’t tell you what she’s done), since. This kind of stuff shows just how out-of-touch with people our politicians really are. “Doing what’s right” is not spending my money on junk like this.
If you’re sick of this stuff, please take a minute to tell Ms. Fallin about it:
