Airlines!

I love to fly. Well, at least I used to. Now that I’m being nickled and dimed to death everytime I take my favorite non-stop flight from OKC on the airline with major hubs in Salt Lake City and Atlanta, I’m a little less enthused to take the trip.

We have a family friend who recently returned from a trip to visit family. Because she wanted the non-stop flight (who wouldn’t when flying with 3 boys under the age of 5), she forced herself to pack 1 bag and save on the cost of checking additional bags. Ironically, in her efforts to pack diapers, sippy cups, clothes, and sleeping gear into the one bag, she blew the weight limit, thereby costing her an additional $50 dollars.

ABC News has a great little summary on the various airlines who are charging fees above the ticket price. I’ve taken two recent flights on America’s airline, and quickly remembered why I love no non-sense fares. Everyone hates feeling ripped off one, only to be ripped off a 2nd time. One suggestion for all the guys on the list, include the extra bag fee in the price. I’m going to have to pay it, why make me hate you even more while I’m flying.
